- ExperienceRead more
Andrea's career began in technology, including eight years in Financial Services, culminating in IT Project Management roles. She then spent seven years managing a variety of IT programmes at Deloitte Consulting for clients in both the private and public sector, including Minorco, Ofgas and Railtrack. In her last consulting assignment, at the Ministry of Defence, she managed a team of more than a hundred consultants, contractors and client staff over a three year period, tasked with implementing Oracle as part of the department's transition to resource accounting.
Andrea was then asked to take on the role of HR Director for Deloitte Consulting UK where she managed a department of 25 and was responsible for all HR matters for over 1000 employees. Major achievements include re-engineering of key processes (recruitment, appraisal, promotion, compensation and disciplinary), improvements to HR management information, successful reduction in headcount through a structured redundancy programme and many significant internal communications activities.
After a 'gap year' of travelling, voluntary work, studying and relaxing, Andrea joined the Executive Search firm Odgers Ray & Berndtson where she worked for three years as a recruitment consultant, placing and managing interim executives in private sector services organisations.
She joined Moorhouse in October 2007 to take responsibility for all aspects of the HR function. Moorhouse manage all their recruitment in-house, so hiring and deploying resources forms a significant part of the role. She also ensures that professional development remains centre stage, running an efficient appraisal and reward system alongside a comprehensive internal and external training programme, across all grades. Her involvement in HR strategy matters include business planning, Alumni events, internal communications and retention.

- InterestsRead more
Andrea is passionate about her garden (including topiary) that she designed and planted from scratch. She enjoys classical music, particularly opera – one of her favourite days of the year being the annual trip to Glyndebourne.
She also loves her holidays and tries to combine sunshine and opera when planning her holiday destinations, good examples being Sydney and Verona.
Her post-graduate studies have included opera appreciation, plant propagation, learning to play bridge and picture framing. She is happy to talk about any or all of these, particularly if encouraged with a glass of bubbles!
