Chris Charlton - Principal

    Chris is a highly experienced business leader, programme director and consultant. Chris has worked with a large number of FTSE 100, US and Asia-Pacific companies, in particular focusing on delivering complex and transformational change in the financial services, energy, telecommunications and FMCG sectors. He has worked both in line management in these industries and as a consultant to them.

    Prior to Moorhouse, Chris worked with a number of consulting firms, including leading the FS People and Change team at PwC; and the major programmes division at Cap Gemini. Before moving into consulting, Chris held a number of key line management roles in the financial services industry including Vice President of Global Strategic Initiatives and Head of Programme Management at Dresdner Bank and Strategy Manager at Sanwa International.

    Chris is a qualified project management professional (PMP), a member of the Securities Institute (SI(Dip)), the Association of Project Managers (APM), the Institute of Consulting (IC), the Institute of Directors (IoD) and a management accountant (CIMA passed finalist). Chris is the author of the Financial Times book: “Euro: Impact and Reality”, a practitioner's guide to dealing with major change.

    Outside work Chris loves family adventures, outdoor sports, film, photography and music. At 22, he led the second British mountaineering expedition to the Tien Shan Mountains on the border of Kazakhstan and China. He has also led mountaineering expeditions to all corners of the globe, including the Himalaya, Rockies, Andes, and mountainous regions of Africa. At 26, he selected, coached and led one of two British in the world's hardest adventure race, the 1997 Discovery Channel Eco-Challenge. 

    In 2001, Chris finished the Marathon des Sables, a 250km run across the Sahara desert over 6 gruelling days and, in 2006, he completed an epic, continuous overland journey, one of the longest of all time. He led a large international team of men and women on a journey of 70,000 miles over 4 continents through a total of 46 countries in 21 months. 

    Chris is married with two children, and lives in Tonbridge, England.
