Johann has over twelve years' experience in project and programme management and strategy development across a number of public and private sector organisations, including the United Nations Secretariat, the Department of Health, Department for Transport, the Highways Agency, HM Revenue and Customs, BT and the Maltese Civil Service.
He developed the new United Nations HR management framework to be implemented globally across 25 departments and 32 peace keeping missions and also acted as project manager within BT's largest outsourcing programme, involving the migration of circa 500 roles from the UK to strategic suppliers. His work also includes supporting the extensive restructuring of the National Health Service (NHS) National Programme for IT, including the definition of governance, organisation structures and the migration of NHS personnel to ten strategic health authorities.

Johann has a Masters in Business Administration from the Cranfield School of Management and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Malta. He is a Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), PRINCE2 and Atern practitioner.

Johann has a young daughter and son who take up most of his time. Whenever possible, he enjoys travelling with his family to new destinations. Outside of work, he is keen on history, architecture, photography and anything related to baking! Johann is also very interested in international politics and global affairs, having worked for the United Nations in New York.
