He feels his interest in the first two was fully awakened when his wife and he bought a 300-year old house some years ago and restored it from derelict to be a family home, adding an extra floor along the way. He has been able to marry these interests with the next two more recently after buying a 250-year old French farmhouse that needed a lot of work and came with 40 acres of French countryside.
