Experience

Mark is an experienced management consultant and Finance Director, with particular interests in strategy translation, risk management, business decision making and environmental issues as they impact business. He joined Moorhouse Consulting from Brakes Foodservice Group  where he was involved in a major turnaround project and the delivery of several significant projects which included providing improvements in revenue, margin and cost reduction, through transformation of systems, processes and people and the setting of clear long term strategy.

Prior to that, Mark worked for six years within Deloitte Consulting’s Programme Leadership practice. Whilst there, he worked on a number of programme and risk management assignments for clients such as CSA, TfL, MoD, Gap, GEC, Deutche Bank and JPMorgan Chase and also took a leading role in the development and delivery of Programme Leadership best practice.

Mark has a track record of delivering results, improving profitability and solving what appear to be intractable problems. His consulting approach is always collaborative and looking to add sustainable long term value. This combines pragmatism, common sense and “intelligent consulting”.  Mark also has significant financial and commercial experience having worked as Finance and Strategy Director of the UK’s leading produce company, where he was responsible for financial and Board reporting, budgeting, forecasting, working capital, business strategy, pricing, and MIS.

Qualifications

Mark has a Masters degree in Engineering & Management from Hertford College, Oxford.  He is a Member of the Association of Project Management, a Chartered CIMA accountant and a Member of the Chartered Management Institute. 

Interests

Outside of work, Mark is developing a passion for (but not necessarily a skill in) photography and graphic design; and an interest in films and the process of film making.  Mark also loves to travel, visiting Cuba, Kenya and the Isle of Wight in the last year.  Finally, as a father of several children, he is kept fit and busy tidying up after them.
