Programmes or Projects: Does it matter?

There are sceptics who don’t believe there is a difference between a programme and a project. While confusion about this is understandable, we believe that programme management and project management are strong and distinct disciplines in their own right – and organisations generally see both as mission-critical in mastering the realisation of tangible benefits and return on investment through well-planned and structured business change.

In this session we will look at the differences between programmes and projects: how they work together to deliver goals within the context of an overall portfolio of activities; how to orchestrate business change activities based on programme and project activities; and, how to recognise what programme and project management (PPM) capabilities are required by both organisations and individuals to be successful in this area.
