Transport: What are the challenges for the next 15, 20, 25 years?

On 30th October, Secretary of State for Transport,Ruth Kelly announced a new framework to deliver a transport system to support the economy and reduce carbon emissions in the publication 'Towards a Sustainable Transport System'. The publication sets out a new approach to longer term transport strategy development and explains how the Department is engaging with stakeholders to develop and implement this process.

John Faulkner, DfT and Carrie Oliver, Moorhouse Consulting, will present the Department’s approach to long term transport planning; will seek input from attendees on their views of the challenges for transport in the UK for the coming years; and will share their perspectives on how the Department has been using stakeholder management to good effect.
