A new award win for Moorhouse
6 August, 2008 Moorhouse Consulting is celebrating again! The Westminster based programme and project management firm has just won a prestigious prize for its cutting edge management systems at the London Excellence Awards 2008. The latest win makes it three accolades in nine months for Moorhouse Consulting, who were also recently recognised by the Association of Project Management (APM) and the Institute of Business Consulting (IBC). For the London Excellence Awards prize for best management systems, the short-listed companies including Moorhouse, Alfred McAlpine, Capita and Olympic Delivery Authority Transport Team were asked to demonstrate ‘the most robust set of integrated systems, processes and management information providing unified organisational management and strong results’. The teams entered a full written submission and presented to the judging panel in person before attending the gala dinner at Lords Cricket Ground, where the winners of the Chartered Quality Institute sponsored award were announced. In awarding the prize to Moorhouse, the judges explained that: “As a young and growing company, Moorhouse is able to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to and investment in business planning and ensures that this commitment is owned by all staff and associates.” Managing director Dom Moorhouse said he was delighted his team’s efforts had been rewarded. Dom said: “As a programme and project management consultancy who advises some of the UK’s largest public and private sector companies on process and technology, it is vital that our own management methodologies are world-class. We have worked hard to develop systems that provide a consistent and high-quality customer experience, but that remain ‘real’, flexible and accessible to staff and customers at all levels. “Our entire portfolio of client work is managed through our engagement management methodology which includes the use of balanced scorecards to ensure the project is meeting and exceeding client expectations. A comprehensive business plan links our activities with finance and resources as well as taking into account external factors. “Every single member of the Moorhouse team actively contributes to the development of the plan, which encourages understanding, ownership and commitment, and we are delighted with the external acknowledgement of our hard work and dedication to management excellence.” Picture: Left to right - Carrie Oliver - Director for Moorhouse Consulting, Andrea Gawn – Head of HR for Moorhouse Consulting, Rose Viggiani - Chief Executive of London Excellence, Tony Harper - Honorary Treasurer of CQI and Paula Allerton – Head of Marketing for Moorhouse Consulting, receive their London Excellence Awards for Management System
