Moorhouse wins again! 17-12-08
2008 is proving a vintage year for Moorhouse. The programme and project management (PPM) advisory specialists scooped their third award in twelve months, this time taking home the Institute of Business Consulting's prize for 'Most Outstanding Practice in Building a Sustainable Client/Consultant Relationship'.
Moorhouse's pioneering PPM work and long standing collaboration with client Transport for London (TfL) impressed the judging panel of leading practitioners.
Managing director Dom Moorhouse said it had been an outstanding year for him and his team.
Dom said: “To win three important awards in a row is remarkable by anyone's standards, but this particular award means a lot to me and the wider team. We are passionate about fostering best practice and industry standards, so to be recognised for our delivery efforts and the strength of the professional relationships we forge with our clients is the icing on the cake.”
Dom explained that Moorhouse's partnership with TfL goes back some four and a half years, since the founding of Moorhouse.
Dom continued: “In 2004, TfL and the then Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, secured a £10 billion five-year Investment Programme to give London a 21st century transport system. We began helping TfL to develop the portfolio, programme and project management (P3M) capability of their people, so they could successfully deliver that investment. Since then we have worked closely with TfL teams to support the delivery of a wide range of strategic initiatives and, indeed, were recently named as one of their top performing suppliers.”
In November, Moorhouse was also named as the Association of Project Management's 'Project Management Company of the Year 2008' and the operations team picked up the London Excellence Award 2008 for 'Best Management Systems' earlier this year.
Dom concluded: “It's been quite a journey since 2004, when I started Moorhouse Consulting with one client. Here we are today with a prosperous business employing over fifty leading PPM practitioners, working on some of the UK's most important transformation programmes. I couldn't be more proud of what we have collectively achieved.”
Institute of Business Consulting Director Lynda Pursor said: “The Moorhouse team is well known for raising and promoting standards in consulting but I am delighted their excellent client delivery is now also receiving recognition. Moorhouse's long standing collaboration with Transport for London is an outstanding example of a consultant/client relationship that continues to bare fruit for both parties in it's fifth year. The team has continuously transferred knowledge and skills to the client so they can deliver their project and programmes better, for the good of a new UK transport system. We applaud this approach, and the team's passion and determination."
