- About our eventsRead more
Our consultants are all involved in complex programme and project work and are encouraged to share the insights they gain from such practical experience with our clients and the wider professional community.
To facilitate this transfer of knowledge and to help raise programme and project delivery standards through the promotion of best practice, expert knowledge and practitioner experience, we run a number of free events throughout the year.
Our breakfast seminars
Our breakfast seminars bring together experts and practitioners to discuss complex programme and project delivery issues. They are short, focused (2 hours; max 16 delegates), free, located in central London and are organised primarily by invitation. They seek to get 'under the skin' of current 'best practice' models by sharing collective experiences and provide an opportunity for you to network with your peers.
- Delivering new operating models in the public sectorRead more
Thursday 23rd February 2012
The public sector is going through a period of significant change. This involves fundamentally restructuring itself to both perform changed roles, and deliver huge efficiency savings. Translating these top-level drivers into an effective and coherent operating model, will be a challenge across the public sector, whether it is the challenge of taking on new responsibilities, merging with other organisations, redefining or rationalising responsibilities, or simply performing the same functions at lower cost. This seminar will explore these challenges further and consider some of the approaches that can be used to drive successful delivery and navigate the various political and practical obstacles that organisations may face.

- Delivering a complex national programme for allRead more
Wednesday 7th March 2012
Achieving successful benefits delivery on a national programme has never been more demanding: staying close to customers, controlling costs, and delivering quality through a dispersed supplier base is a perennial challenge for programme managers. In a public service environment these pressures are further heightened: how do you balance short-term commitments with the imperative to deliver a sustainable, national legacy? And how do you manage the difficult 'tail', ensuring that the service leaves no one behind? The BBC is tasked with successfully delivering the Switchover Help Scheme to 7 million UK homes by the end of 2012. The £300m programme provides practical help for those who are expected to have the most difficulty in switching over to digital TV. Using DSHS as a case study, this seminar will examine aspects of best practice in complex programme delivery on a national scale, providing insights applicable across industry sectors and customer demographics.
Further details to follow.

- Crisis Averted – Bringing control to fast paced changeRead more
Thursday 26th April 2012
In the wake of the financial and liquidity crises, there is increased pressure to deliver, and to deliver fast. Sweeping regulatory changes, large scale complex transformations and requirements for speed and efficiency means many organisations are struggling to keep up. How do you manage unclear scope? How do you control changing requirements? And how do you still ensure successful delivery?
LCH.Clearnet is the leading independent clearing house group, serving major international exchanges and platforms and a range of Over The Counter (OTC) markets. It has undertaken a complex programme to launch a new foreign exchange derivatives clearing and risk management service for the OTC markets. Dubbed ForexClear, the service launches in early 2012 amid a fast changing and highly regulated market environment.
In our breakfast seminar we will explore how LCH.Clearnet has succeeded in adopting a highly agile, risk led approach to programme and change delivery, whilst maintaining the control and transparency that the current climate dictates. We will use the ForexClear service launch as a case study to highlight lessons learnt from a true programme success story.
