Conference shows leaders how to leverage PPM in uncertain times 23-10-08
Senior leaders from the private and public sectors are meeting in London to examine how best to leverage programme and project management (PPM) to meet their business goals in today's tough economic climate.
Influential leaders from the Department for Transport, Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, BT and the London Underground will be among those joining the award-winning advisory firm Moorhouse to discuss how to successfully manage their major programmes during a period of uncertainty and cash constraint.
Moorhouse Director Tim Phillips said he was excited about bringing together 100 project stakeholders and practitioners for the company's fourth annual event and counselled that managers had more to worry about today than ever before.
Tim said: “Many programme managers are currently experiencing the most challenging business climate they have ever known, contending with not only a pessimistic global economic forecast, but also a bewildering interplay of social, environmental and technological issues."
“Excellent PPM can help an organisation to deliver within the parameters of this complex change agenda, and even to thrive in the current uncertain environment."
“Our event will offer real life case studies and practical examples that leaders can take back to base and use to drive beneficial change straight away.”
Managing Director Dom Moorhouse said he was looking forward to hearing how different organisations are coping with the current challenges.
Dom said: “Our guest speakers are presenting on the importance of strong leadership, the necessity of portfolio management – which allows you to identify, prioritise, and review your programmes in a difficult period, and how to take a strategic approach to cost reduction. Their combined experiences will offer the audience a crucial insight in relation to managing the challenges of today.”
