Moorhouse named runners up at IBC annual awards 09-05-07
Programme management specialists Moorhouse were named runners up for an award that acknowledged pioneering work and ongoing commitment to raising standards in the management consultancy industry.
The commendation was made by the Institute of Business Consulting (formed by a merger of the Institute of Business Advisers and the Institute of Management Consultancy), at their Annual Conference and Awards held in Park Lane, London on Friday.
Managing director Dom Moorhouse said he was delighted that his team's hard work had been recognised in the important category 'Most Active Premier Practice in the Field of Standards'.
Dom said: “Consultants often get derided for working in an unregulated industry with scant regard for professional standards. These awards demonstrate that, with the IBA's leadership, the industry is becoming more accountable. I am delighted that Moorhouse's efforts in supporting this agenda have also been recognised.”
“We are a team of thirty consultants, all originally from global management consultancy firms, who moved to a smaller practice in order to build our own brand – focused on high standards of professional delivery.”
Dom continued: “The Award means a lot to us as it acknowledges that our company's unique proposition, values and approach are aligned with the industry's desire to raise the professional consulting bar.”
Moorhouse was judged on not only how it promotes overall standards in the industry but also how the team works with bodies and associations to encourage knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
IBA Director Lynda Pursor said: “The Moorhouse team is dedicated to raising and promoting standards in consulting - they frequently speak at events, publish white papers and hold discussion forums to encourage best practice. They are very open about the value they give to their clients and we applaud their integrity and commitment to IBA's professional standards agenda.”
Dom concluded: “There is still much to be done - we seek for our entire team to be IBA accredited. In the pursuit of excellence, we have the humility to recognise we never 'quite get there'. It is a continuous process of improvement.”
