Moorhouse delighted with first ever MCA Award win 14-04-11
Moorhouse was delighted to walk away with top honors at the prestigious Management Consultancy Association (MCA) awards last week.
The programme advisory specialists won the 'International' category for their work on BT's Billing+ programme, which saw the joint team overcome significant cultural and geographical challenges to help the client simplify and standardize its complex global billing operations and save £35m to date (with more to follow) via outsourcing the billing operations from 22 countries to India.
BT's Commercial Director for Billing+ Martin Gaunt spoke proudly of the programme's success. “Billing+ has been acknowledged as one of the most successful of a wide range of change initiatives in BT Global Services during 2009–2010,” said Martin. “The programme embedded process improvement that delivered key cash flow and working capital improvements, vital to the future of BT GS. In every region, billing performance has been improved. Moreover, over £100M of associated benefits have been identified, on top of the £35m+ already banked.”
The director leading Moorhouse work in BT, Bob Hendicott, said his team's leadership and programme execution skills were really tested by the demands of the programme, which required them to deal with a large number of BT regions on sensitive issues.
Bob said: “This project team had to build relationships carefully with groups across the globe, get to know them and their particular issues, and find a way to drive a new billing operation forward whilst staying sensitive to local needs. The team's relationship-building and delivery skills blended well with BT's technical expertise and in-house knowledge - and the hard work paid off.”
Bob concluded: “We are delighted to be recognised by the industry's leading body, and to win such a coveted award for our work.”
