    We can quickly help you take control of existing projects, refining governance and challenging each business case to make sure that the work in progress is worth continuing. Initially, we'd work on day-to-day management – planning, reporting and managing risk. That includes encouraging completely honest reporting; important decisions need to be based on facts, not propaganda.

    Once we have regained immediate control together, we will work with you to build repeatable, robust processes and tools that fit the way you work and the language you use, while embedding good programme and project management (PPM) disciplines. It is tempting for consultants to say that everything is broken, but we've never found that to be the case; adapting organisations whilst harnessing their strengths helps us to get your team to 'buy into' what we're all doing.

    As the essentials of good practice become second nature, we will start to develop your team's capability by working on standardised approaches for the more complex PPM disciplines, such as benefits realisation and strategic risk management.

Whilst the primary skill of all our people is multi-dimensional programme delivery, we hand pick our team to provide you with the specific sector and technical skills relevant to your business.

    We are not PPM 'zealots' who see only one way to do things. Naturally we focus on rigour and tight control, but tailored to your own language and culture. Where we can we adapt existing work, helping to reduce costs, harness your team's strengths and ensure their engagement.

    Responsibility for governance and reaping the benefits of change has to rest with you in our view. We'll support you in every way we can, but we will seek to avoid 'doing it for you', and will assiduously avoid 'doing it to you'. We also believe strongly in not outstaying our welcome; we will simply help you to deliver… and then leave.

    As you would expect, we have an array of tools and reference material built into mapp™, our proprietary best practice tool kit which we will also share with you.

    We can provide specialist support to business case development and maintenance, based on a proven model which genuinely links to the desired benefits of change, rather than being a document designed to ensure financial approval which then sits in the bottom drawer. To support benefits management we can provide templates and examples of benefits profiles (by which each individual benefit is defined in detail), benefits realisation schedules, and programme level benefits logs. We have a number of simple and easy to use tools for the capture and analysis of strategic risks.

    Because of our belief that excellence in programme delivery and ultimate benefits realisation must be embraced by people in our clients' organisations, all our work is directed towards assisting with defining the job descriptions for these key programme team members and helping them in their roles. Our approaches vary from coaching and mentoring at more senior levels to training and subsequent guidance amongst change champions.
