Our community investment work is centred on two key principles:
Establish lasting events in support of our charitable causes. We undertake an annual charity event every summer in support of one national and one local charity and have raised substantial funds for a number of worthy charitable causes. Our staff choose who we support and everyone gets involved in the event. Past events include a Bike Run and an Extreme Pedalo down the Thames.
- Engage with local communities. We are now in our third year supporting City Gateway and it is an ever strengthening partnership. Aside from fundraising activities, we are proud to also play a part in the support of their core remit - to provide training and opportunities for the young people of the Tower Hamlets community. We have an established apprenticeship scheme and run a regular professional skills training courses. We take great reward and pride in doing so as we are inspired by the leadership and staff of City Gateway, the cause they serve and the vibrancy and talent of the young people we meet.
- EnvironmentRead more
We are committed to minimising the environmental impact of our operations and services, and strive to integrate environmental best practice in all our business activity to maximise sustainability and environmental awareness throughout Moorhouse.
Our commitment is supported by 7 key principles:
- Conduct business in full knowledge of and compliance with the relevant environmental legislation.
- Adopt purchasing practices that take into account the environmental impact of products and services in areas of key concern.
- Recycle where possible and minimise consumption / travel where appropriate
- Use public transport whenever we practically can.
- Comply with client environmental policy requirements and in those instances where client standards exceed our own in any area, we will upgrade our own policies and standards as part of our continual improvement process - this is managed through our Quality Management System.
- Consider environmental issues whenever they impact on our work or our recommendations to clients; and
- Ensure that our people are aware of the environmental impacts of business activities.
