Emer is a consultant with five years’ experience supporting organisations in engaging their people, around big change programmes and business-as-usual activities alike. She has worked with a broad range of organisations, from Banks, to property developers, and from retailers, to energy providers. Regardless of the project, she believes in the importance of measuring impact to prove the return on investment of, and continuously make improvements to, the employee experience.
Data-driven and people-focused, Emer has conducted hundreds of interviews, focus groups, and surveys, to help her clients plan the best path forward. Combining cutting insights from bespoke research with detailed knowledge of employee engagement trends, she has helped organisations optimise their change and communication strategies.
The highlights of her career so far have been seeing her internal influencing impact the world outside her clients’ organisations. For example, she and her team conducted stakeholder interviews which provided a UK property developer with the knowledge they needed to evolve their market positioning. Over the course of several years, she helped arm a global fast food company with hard-hitting campaign materials, getting their restaurant staff excited about the customer experience – and increasing customer satisfaction scores in a number of key areas. Most recently, she and her team have collaboratively developed a purpose statement and values for property investment and development company to inspire both internal and external audiences.
In her previous role at Gallagher Employee Communication and Experience, previously Gatehouse, she was also heavily involved in thought leadership production and analysing industry trends. She’s written five editions of the State of the Sector report – a global census of the internal communication and employee experience industry – and three editions of the UK Benefits Strategy and Benchmarking Survey.
Outside of work, you’ll typically find Emer doing something active – her favourite sports include weightlifting, kickboxing, and hiking. On a quieter day, she enjoys curling up with an interior design magazine, or daydreaming about her next trip abroad.Back
