James Thornton


James is an established financial and operational change professional with a track record of assisting clients and former employers with major business change programmes. He has worked with several organisations across a number of  countries in both client facing and internal roles with a particular focus on corporate finance and commercial research.

James joins Moorhouse following over three years' experience working across corporate finance, private equity and real estate fields. He has recently been working with Ghana Capital Partners, a private equity firm investing in Sub-Saharan African markets, where he conducted due diligence on potential investments and commercial research on sectors and countries in the region. Previously he worked as a business analyst focused on strategic projects for Rendeavour, a Pan-African land developer, in Ghana and Kenya. Before that he had short term roles with both Impellam Group and Cenkos Securities where he held corporate finance positions assisting on mergers and acquisitions as well as public equity fundraising.

Outside of work, James enjoys travelling to far flung destinations around the world and is a big sports fan. A long suffering supporter of Crystal Palace FC, he plays both formats of football weekly. When he was younger he played both cricket and rugby and he also holds a strong interest in country music and global affairs.
