Our People

Matthew Gaston

Matthew is an experienced consultant with a broad range of skills ranging from feasibility design to project management, developed over 15 years across three sectors.

Matthew is a natural problem-solver with a ‘can-do’ spirit, consistently creating and delivering solutions in a structured manner. He believes in the importance of building on good fundamentals and seeks to produce robust designs and plans that clients can trust.

Before joining Moorhouse, the majority of Matthew’s experience was in civil engineering, where he spent 12 years managing multi-disciplinary coastal construction projects and programmes throughout the UK and abroad. After engineering he spent two and a half years at University College London teaching professional skills, increasing student engagement by restructuring the programme and introducing new activities.

As befits a career-changer, Matther has a wide range of interests. He loves playing and watching sport, enjoying a game of Ultimate Frisbee on Saturday mornings while supporting teams in UK, North American and Australian sports. He also enjoys writing, having been published in an industry journal he now sporadically posts blogs on Medium on subjects of growing interest including ethical fashion. To help support his unbounded interest, he is a Felow of the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce).
