What was the challenge?
Our client won some high-profile UK Government contracts in 2013, a new leadership team was brought in to improve the running of the business and to re-build their brand. As part of the new agenda, emphasis was given to significantly improving and transforming the Finance function.
They wanted to create a world-class Finance function.
How did we help?
Moorhouse was engaged to support the Finance Transformation Director in defining and initiating the transformation phase and in managing the programme. Moorhouse were also to provide coordination and control of this transformation through a PMO.
The Moorhouse team transitioned the existing and in-flight portfolio of stabilisation projects into a Finance Transformation programme structure and building in the transformation elements based on a coherent Blueprint for Finance.
Through strong governance, we provided the appropriate planning, management information and lines of escalation to provide oversight and assurance of successful programme delivery and to ensure the right decision making.
What was the impact?
Moorhouse provided the core capability to drive consistency across the programme through delivery. Specifically, we established a PMO to provide a focus for the planning and controls for this key initiative and to: provide assurance of positive progress to the business; establish consistent ways of working to support and converge the efforts and effects of multiple stakeholders across the multiple lines of business, and promoted and applied programme and project management best practices to deliver effectively and, incrementally, to develop the organisation’s capabilities and build upon successes.
