What was the challenge?
The Museum of London are relocating from their London Wall site to a new home at West Smithfield, providing the chance to reimagine and transform the organisation and enabling the exciting opportunities this new site will bring. Moorhouse was engaged to support the Museum with development of the Operating Model for the new museum and associated organisation design options for Day 1 of operation.
How did we help?
Moorhouse initially used data analysis and interviews with key stakeholders to develop a thorough understanding of the existing organisational structure, skills and capabilities and opportunities for change.
We held a series of workshops to articulate what the vision for the new museum meant for future ways of working and operating model design principles. We then developed a high-level, customer centric operating model and organisation design options for the future operation, along with a proposed roadmap for implementing the change.
What was the impact?
Our work enabled the Museum to articulate how their operating model could be more customer centric in the future operation, as well as providing understanding of what the impact of these changes would likely be for people and processes internally. The new Museum is expected to open in 2022.
