In the Moorhouse Pharmaceuticals sector, we work with a range of clients including GSK, Otsuka and Roche. During 2017, we supported the Central, Medical and Commercial functions on various initiatives including cost transformation, external engagement, digital transformation, product launches, regulatory compliance and webinar development.

Over the course of 2017 I had the privilege to support a number of varied projects of strategic importance to the client. I project managed the go-to-market phase of a key product that the company had committed to launching as the newest addition to their strategic portfolio. Once regulatory agencies had approved, fast and decisive action was required to maximize return on the R&D investment and secure competitive advantage over other entrants to the market. It was also important to consistently apply best practice established in the launch of previous products across a range of business functions. Teams responsible for Regulation, Finance, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Pricing, Customer Insights, Comms and Supply Chain were all required to simultaneously deliver the launch plan successfully.  This demonstrated how the ability to lead and work with cross-functional teams is key to your success as a consultant.

I also led an exciting virtual reality project to design and roll out a VR learning application and tool globally to aid field-based medical staff communicate more effectively to large audiences. Learning services provided by companies need to evolve and incorporate a range of digital solutions to cater to all learners and make learning more effective. 

Thirdly, I managed a project of significant strategic importance supporting the Medical function to enable and empower staff to deliver an industry-leading service to customers. This involved strategic planning, communications and change management activities to embed new ways of working. The project resulted in clarity and consistency of message across the organization including fully aligned leadership, leading to improved commitment and accountability within Medical. I was able to strengthen valuable skills required in consulting, including creativity, problem solving and building relationships.
