What was the challenge?
Faced with challenging sustainability targets, the Climate Programme was a core component for how the airport would shape future operations, and deliver on targets for its passengers and staff, and the world around it. Success would be driven by a vision and innovative thinking - but also firm foundations and a solid structure to ensure successful delivery of key initiatives.
To make this happen, the airport required support during the set-up and delivery of its Climate Programme.
How did we help?
We established the delivery framework as part of the set up of the ‘Climate Change Programme’ including :
- Programme plan encompassing all key initiatives
- Governance for effective key decision making
- Dependency mapping across wider business initiatives
- Stakeholder mapping to ensure successful delivery
We then supported the on-going delivery of the programme and various initiatives including carrying out a comparative analysis of potential partners for a delayed carbon offsetting platform. Moorhouse undertook independent analysis, providing an objective quantification, next steps, risks and considerations for any work moving forward.
What was the impact?
We established the foundations for the airport to mobilise and deliver a key initiative which would cement their position as an industry leader in sustainability.
The structure we put in place allowed for greater efficiency, improved communication, stakeholder management and reduced duplication of work which in turn helped to launch their new carbon offsetting online platform.
