Who?
A high-performing UK water company wished to align its 25-year vision statement to its IT portfolio.
The challenge
However, its current structure and processes were not aligned to this vision, which hindered the ability to articulate a business plan for Ofwat’s upcoming Price Review 24 (PR24). The company had a limited budget and resources to deliver its IT roadmap, which was critical to overcome challenges arising from an ageing IT portfolio, potential cyber-attacks and rising costs. In the long run delivering this IT roadmap is essential to achieve customer satisfaction and a reputation for innovation and efficiency.
How did we help?
Moorhouse, together with its parent company, Expleo, undertook a review of the business’ IT roadmap alongside its business capabilities by:
- Running a Capability Maturity Framework (CMF) survey with its C-suite
- Validating results with individual interviews to support the CMF findings
- Providing detailed findings across several optimisation areas in order to deliver a successful IT roadmap including Programme Management, Customer Satisfaction & Innovation, Data & Reporting, Governance, Continuous Improvement and Sourcing Strategy
Outcomes
Moorhouse provided the water company with a set of business enablement initiatives and an indicative IT roadmap. This will modernise their IT suite and make their operating model ready for future challenges, paving the way for a successful PR24 submission. The changes made as a result of this project have given confidence to the organisation that they can invest in elevating their IT architecture in line with their 25-year vision.
