Moorhouse Consulting were celebrating at this week’s MCA Awards Ceremony, held at Grosvenor House London, after being Highly Commended for three of the evening’s prizes.
The awards were for two projects – ‘Social Value’, for their client Ofgem, and ‘International’ with Viiv Healthcare. Partner Edward Charlish achieved Highly Commended for the Experienced Leader award.
The Management Consultancies Association (MCA) is the voice of the UK consulting sector and the awards, which celebrate consultancy excellence and the impact consulting has on our society, have been an important event in the UK consulting calendar for 27 years.
To achieve Highly Commended for the Social Value award, Moorhouse needed to demonstrate ‘work that has enabled clients and consultancies to achieve excellent and sustainable benefits for wider society.’
Moorhouse supported Ofgem in the winter of 2022/23 when wholesale gas prices significantly rose and the Energy Price Guarantee was introduced to reduce the impact of the energy crisis on consumers. The Scheme provided over 20 million households with an average of £1000 in energy bill subsidy during the crisis. The team provided compliance and enforcement expertise as well as technical energy industry advisory to ensure the Energy Price Guarantee’s full benefits were delivered and customers received this crucial support.
For the ‘International’ category, the criteria required Moorhouse to showcase ‘successful project work overcoming organisational cultural, regulatory and geographical barriers in any sector or service line carried out in an overseas market.’
Moorhouse worked with ViiV Healthcare to address the persistent stigma around people living with HIV. The output from the project was an immersive virtual reality (VR) experience named “Chapters of Stigma” that captures the daily stigma faced by people living with the disease from a first-person perspective. Moorhouse worked with communications agency, Havas, to deliver the VR experience.

Commenting on their achievement, Managing Partner, Richard Brackstone said:
This is our best performance to date and I’m proud of all of our individuals and teams that have been recognised. The evening emphasised the incredibly important work the consulting industry is involved in and our work and collaboration with both Ofgem and Viiv Healthcare showcases this and the significant impact, benefits and value consulting has on society.
The awards are another success for Moorhouse in 2024 after being recognised within the top 10% of consultancies in the UK, as named in the Financial Times’ Top Management Consultancies.
Thank you to our clients, Viiv Healthcare and Ofgem for your testimonials and support.
