Moorhouse has been shortlisted as finalists for the MCA Awards 2025.
The most prestigious awards in the consulting industry year once again saw a high number of submissions. Moorhouse has been shortlisted as finalists in five areas; two specific projects and for three individual consultants.
The awards highlight the true value of consulting to both the private and public sectors and the impact it has on our economy, environment and society. Covering 25 categories and judged by an independent and expert panel, the awards cover firms, projects, and individuals.
The shortlisted Moorhouse projects include their work with Network Rail for the ‘Change and Transformation in the Public Sector’ category and with South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) for ‘Strategy’.
Moorhouse assisted Network Rail in overhauling maintenance practices by adopting a semi-automated track inspection method using the robotic device, FELIX. This shift from manual gauges and visual checks to advanced technology aimed to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency. Moorhouse facilitated the transition, helping achieve reduced staff time on tracks for improved safety, improved maintenance and reliability, and less time spent on inspections for increased efficiency—supporting the long-term success of FELIX’s implementation.
For ‘Strategy,’ Moorhouse supported SECAmb in overcoming severe operational and financial challenges through a co-designed strategy involving over 2,000 staff, volunteers, patients, and system partners. They introduced an innovative patient segmentation and clinical model, enabling virtual consultations and better resource alignment. Five Integrated Care Hubs were launched, helping avoid over 1,200 emergency admissions and saving up to £6 million. AI-supported triage is being introduced to further optimise dispatch. As a result, the NHS have removed SECAmb from its ‘Recovery Support Programme’ and SECAmb is on track to close a £40m deficit.
As well as two projects submissions, three Moorhouse consultants have been shortlisted for the ‘Young Management Consultant of the Year,’ ‘Team Leader’ and ‘Chartered Management Consultant of the Year’ categories.
