People & Talent: What is it like to be a Resourcing Advisor for a growing consulting firm?
Our fantastic Resourcing Advisor, Sinead Barber, works at the heart of our People & Talent team, and Moorhouse as a whole. Although Resourcing is a growing team, it’s a niche role, so we asked Sinead to shed some light on her day-to-day.
How did you get into Resourcing?
I was working as a Personal Assistant and looking for an entry level People and Talent/HR role. I was struggling to find an opportunity that didn’t require years of experience, or for me to be CIPD qualified. Then I came across a ‘Resourcing Coordinator’ role at Moorhouse, finally somewhere not looking for experience beyond my years! I was drawn in by the company culture and the chance to shape and develop my career in People & Talent.”
What do you enjoy about the role?
The Resourcing Advisor role is a fantastic way to work with everyone across the business and build relationships, from consultants across all grades to partners, and offers a fascinating insight into how a consultancy firm runs. The role is quite varied day to day, which keeps it interesting. There are always new projects to get involved with, both within the team and across the wider business. Resourcing within a consultancy is quite a niche role, but I can honestly say it was the best decision I have made career wise. I’ve had the opportunity to learn from a highly skilled and supportive team and am currently completing my CIPD to broaden my skillset.
What has been your highlight since you joined in 2021?
It has to be winning ‘Individual of the Quarter’ in the summer this year. It meant so much to me to achieve recognition from the business on the value of my role, and feel genuine appreciation for the work I do each day.
